What makes this interesting
Back in the good old days, people argued on the internet properly - paragraphs, grudges, follow-ups. Now it's a 👍 under a reel. I found a photography forum where people still took things seriously, scraped years of arguments, transformed the data to strip any identifying association, and made it visual. The result reminded me of a convergent graph or a sink tree - a structure representing data aggregation and hierarchical consolidation. In real life, that's the one user on every forum who answers every post while nobody answers theirs.
What I expanded it into
The original forum had years of data and much deeper interactions than what you see here. Deep, as it turned out, meant family members and well-wishes - so making that version public was off the table. But it proved the point: any data can be made meaningful. Years of heated exchanges between strangers visualize into clean clusters, orbiting the same topics that kept them arguing in the first place.
